Changes in the new 2008 edition of Braille Science Notation

The 2008 edition of Braille Science Notation has been updated to preserve conformity with the current 2005 edition of Braille Mathematics Notation.

In particular, the section on Basic Mathematics Notation has been updated, and the section on Units has been replaced by the current section in Braille Mathematics Notation. (Refer to the list of amendments to the mathematics notation.)

In addition, single letter chemical element symbols require a dots 56 sign as well as a capital sign, when standing alone in ordinary text, according to the general principles.

These changes came into effect with the publication of the 2005 edition of Braille Mathematics Notation, although the updated Braille Science Notation codebook itself was not available until 2008.

The braille version of the 2008 edition of Braille Science Notation has not yet been done, but will be made available as soon as possible.
